Hoping someone can help out with a light fixture install. I went and removed the old light fixture and noticed there is no black wire in the junction box. After I removed the old fixture, I have two white wires twisted together and one white-ish (sort of yellow) wire. There's another wire which is simply passing through the junction box. I'm guessing the two white twisted ones are true neutral lines and the off-white one is for the black wire. Anyone have some advice?

Connect your new fixture to exactly the same wires as your old fixture otherwise it will not work properly. The two twisted are probably the neutral if your old fixture was connected to them.

I wish I had paid more attention when I took off the old fixture. However, the old fixture didn't have a white or black wire either. The two wires were part of the siamese line that ran down the fixture. In this case a gold clear insulation around both wires.
Based on your thought and a friends I went ahead and connected the white to the two twisted lines and the fixture works.
Thanks!

with the type of fixture wire you have one of the two wires to the lamp sockets will have a ridge on it that you can feel with your fingers. This is the neutral. It goes to the screw shell of the lamps and should be connected to the neutral for the house so that you do not get shocked while trying to change a bulb.
