first of all hi,
upon moving into a new house ive found theres a menvier 790+ panel in the loft, so i got hold of a second hand remote keypad and wired that in fine. there was also a lot of visonic wireless kit in boxes. including pir's, magagnetic contacts and most awkward, a wireless reciver to wire into the panel.
i have both installation manuals, but they don't make sense. ive tried all manner of wiring combinations, and can get the pirs working fine, and the door magnets to work but not properly. (will set alarm when doors closed only, and then alarms if i open)
the main question on the wiring front is the visonic reciever has 7 wires: 2 power + and_ which ive wired in fine, a tamper, a trouble and a low battery (not sure what to wire them to), and most puzzling, a NC and C wires, which im not sure where to connect. theres also vauge mention in the visonic manual of an EOL resistor.
the menvier panel on the other hand has 8 different mirror circuits, each allowing 4 wires, 2 for i pressume the loop? and 2 have "t" next to them (tamper?).
please advise as ive spent hours on it and its driving me nuts!!!

ray
ps, sorry, forgot to mention, im in the UK

Sorry, I know absolutely nothing about the menvier 790+. The Visonic, I can help a bit.

Umm, that sounds normal. Alarm panels typically use normally closed loops. You don't get a ready light until all the loops are closed, once armed, breaking a loop triggers the alarm.

"the main question on the wiring front is the visonic reciever has 7 wires: 2 power + and_ which ive wired in fine, a tamper, a trouble and a low battery (not sure what to wire them to), and most puzzling, a NC and C wires, which im not sure where to connect."

The tamper, trouble and low battery are optional connections, so you can ignore them for now. C and NC are Common and Normally Closed. These are the actual output terminals that allow the add on wireless reciever to trigger a hardwired input on the alarm panel.
