I am planning to install new marble floor in the bathroom including part of the walls and around the tub. The marble is shiny with honed edges (12"x12"). Some say that it is a bad idea to install marble around the tub and that it requires high maintenance. Is it so? and what can I do if I decide to install marble. How efective will a commercial marble sealer be? The second question is: Do I need to put spacers between tiles?
Any help will be greatly appriciated.
Thank you

marble can stain like crazy. I envision shampoos and soaps that are not clear colored, leaving some kind of mark if they are not scrubbed down straight away. It's also very slick when wet. maybe not the best choice, safety wise?
