I bought 12"x12" marble tile from a major home improvement outlet. A friend said the back of the tile did not look porous to him. The back is smooth, not a polished surface, but it does not have any grooves or mesh on the back. These were expensive tile, but are they defective or should they be this way? If they are not defective, what adhesive material should I use on them. I plan to remove 1/2" plywood over 3/4" T&G and install cement board for my underlayment. Any help on this matter will be Appreciated.
