I have just got a 1999 bonaire ducted evap system and on the bottom under the fan where it mounts on the dropper there are what appears to be 4 screw mounts that looks like something screws on it? is there a filter or gauze or something that goes there to stop crap getting blown into the ducts or are these screws nothing?
is there normally anything that is between the fan and ceiling outlets besides ducting?

No Cause if you think about it the air has gone through a filter let say when it came through the pads with the water in them.

yeah i was wondering if it could be a bug filter or something to stop spiders and stuff like that getting into your house through the gaps in the unit.

When we lived in a mobile we had a roof mounted evap cooler on the roof. It dumped into the hall, and it was trimmed off with a plate that had fins for directing the air flow.
