I am trying to connect a 2 wire smoke detector on a PC1555MX panel.
The detector is a GE model 511c device.
I used the PGM 2 and aux. pos. terminals to connect into the circuit.
I put the EOL resistor at the smoke head just as the wiring diagram illustrates.
I programmed the PGM output on section 009 to default on pgm1 (19) and 2-wire smoke on pgm2 (04).
I have the smoke head working with 15 voltsDC power, but when I do a smoke test, I cant get the panel to go into alarm and dial my beeper.
My panel is programmed into my beeper and works fine on all other burglar alarms and zones, but I can't get the smoke detector on pgm2 circuit to go into alarm.
Is this 511c smoke head the wrong type?
Do I have to do additional programming to get the PGM zone to activate an instant fire alarm and dial my beeper?
I think I am going to have to take this detector back, if they will let me, and get a 4-wire unit and just use an aux. power source and wire the NO contacts to one of the unused instant loops.
ANY HELP APPRECIATED.
THANKS

From section 5.11 (pp 20-21) of the installer manual:
"NOTE: For the 2-wire smoke option to work, connector JP1
must be removed from the PC1555 control board.
NOTE: 2-Wire smoke detectors use PGM2 as a supervised
input with a 2200W end-of-line resistor. A trouble condition will
be generated if an open condition is detected between PGM2
and Aux+ ."
