planning on renting one for LR, has 8 doorways to go through. is the saw preset to the correct depth??

I think woodbutcher52 is going to undercut the door jamb with an electric jamb saw to install flooring. But that's just guessing as this thread "was" in the Wood and Laminated flooring forum. Don't want to guess, but I'm pretty sure.

Considering all the different heights of products available for floors, I dare say it couldn't possibly be correctly preset except by random chance.
