I have a GE Concord security panel with the X-10 module. Everything works fine except that all events related to the X-10 cause the panel to chime. I cannot seem to turn this off.
The normal chime on/off (for when doors open & close) doesn't seem to have anything to do with this. Its driving me nuts!
Help!
Thanks

A quick skim of the installer manuals for the doesn't show any special command for this. I'm not a real expert on these concord family systems, so I don't know if you are describing the same kind of beep that a door chime produces, or if it's a different tone and duration.
There is an option to turn off status beeps, but I think that turns off everything.

Its a single short beep (same as the arm confirmation, just one beep instead of two). It happens on any X10 event such as 0 0 (all lights on, all lights off). The door open/close chimes are easy to disable/enable but this is not impacted by that setting.
Whats the command to turn off all status beeps? I'm not seeing that in the manual.

Yes, that is normal. Nearly all systems provide a confirmation beep when you enter that kind of command.
Look in your manual for "system status" it should be in the tier of the menu for keypad setup.

You can turn off status beeps from each keypad. You have to go under "Accessory Modules" and select "Bus Devices". You have to know the BUS ID number of the keypad(s) you wish to silence (hit the "D" and "6" keys at the same time and it will tell you it's device address)

Excellent - that fixed it. I did lose status beeps for other actions that were useful, but I'll live with it.
