Hello - I have an (yes, old) DSC PC2500. I recently erased the eeprom since i am the second owner of the house and have no idea what the installer code is. I have everything set up properly and working **except** I have a trouble light on. The code is 4 (Telephone line problem) which makes perfect sense to me - I don't have a phone line hooked up to it. The thing is, I've never had a phone line hooked up to it and the trouble light was never on until after I restored the factory presets into the EEPROM. I have the installation manual and it does not say anything about how to disable that warning. I have turned off the communications part of the alarm and thought that would clear the trouble indicator, but no luck. I'm guessing I need to program the device in binary mode, but I have no idea what address to program, and to what hex value. Or maybe I am totally wrong and I don't need to do this in binary mode.
At any rate, I'm at a loss for what to do next, and know that it is possible to clear the toruble indicator since it was cleared when I moved in (and no phone line was connected then either).
Any ideas would eb appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob

First you need to disable the communicator in section 13 by turning ON option 1. You also need to turn ON option 7 in section 14.
That should do it. You might have to power down and then back up, but it usually clears as soon as you exit programming.

Perfect! That did it, and I did not have to power doan and back up again. I thought I tried that too since it made sense that "Tlm" had to do with the phone line, but I guess I never tried both on at the same time.
Thanks!
