I set up my lynxr-en box. But now when I call the box LCD changes to "CC" which means it's expecting modem communication and the phone continues to ring. Why doesn't it pick up the phone? Why is it expecting a modem communication?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

DIALER PROGRAMMING (*40– *53)
In fields *40, *41, *42, enter up to the number of digits shown. Do not fill unused spaces. Enter 0–9; #+11 for '*';
#+12 for '#'; #+13 for a pause.
*40 PABX ACCESS CODE To clear entries from field, press *40*
*41 PRIMARY PHONE NUMBER To clear entries from field, press * 41*
*42 SECONDARY PHONE NUMBER To clear entries from field, press *42* .
To clear entries from field, press *43* or *44* .Examples:

*43 PRIMARY SUBS ACCT # *43*
*44 SECONDARY SUBS ACCT # *44*
*47 PHONE SYSTEM SELECT 0
*48 REPORT FORMAT for PRIM./SEC 0
*49 SPLIT/DUAL REPORTING 0

I would guess.. you need to program the following...

*40* *41* *42* *43* *44*

Or maybe this alone might fix it... But you may have to clear the others also...
*95 RING DETECT COUNT FOR DOWNLOADING/ENABLE PHONE
ACCESS MODE
*95 = 0

Ok what is happening step by step....
Like telling me how to pour a glass of milk

1. Get a glass and place it on a level surface.
2. Open the refrigerator.
3. Grab milk carton and remove from refrigerator.
4. Close refrigerator (if you don’t close it MOM will get mad!)
5. Take cap off of the milk.
6. hold open end of milk container over the top of the glass.
7. slowly pour the milk in to the glass ensuring it goes in to the glass.
8. Only fill half way [your on a diet :) ] when the level reaches 1/2 way stop pouring.
9. Place the cap back on the milk.
10. Open the refrigerator.
11. Place milk carton back in the refrigerator.
12. Close refrigerator

so many steps

From the system operation section of the installer manual:

"Remote Phone Control Feature
The remote phone control feature, which must be enabled in field *91, allows the user to access the security system from any off-site touch-tone telephone. The control will pick up the incoming call, based on the ring count specified in field *95, and will announce “SYTEM” every three (3) seconds for the next eight (8) seconds. During this period the panel will wait for a valid User Code to be entered. If a valid User Code is not entered or the eight (8) second period expires a modem tone will be generated for remote programming (Compass Downloading). If a valid User Code has been entered, the control will announce the current system status and/or beeping sounds."

If I had to guess, you either need to set the ring count to a smaller number than the remote download ring count, or you need to enter a code before it times out.

the LCD Message changes from the time to "CC". However the phone keeps ringing. I've tried this with field *95 set to 15 and 1, and fireld *91 set to 1 and 2, all with the same results.

thank you

Does your home phone have caller ID or DSL? Either have been known to interfere with this type of feature. The caller ID essentially intercepts the ring tone before the panel can, so the panel never "sees" a normal ring voltage; and the DSL tones have a similar effect by making the panel expect modem connection.

but there is a filter. The panel appears to see the ring because it changes state, the lcd display changes to "CC", the phone however is not picked up, it just keeps ringing,

Do you have the filter that is made specifically for alarm systems? or do you simply have a regular DSL filter? In either case, it has been my experience that, filtered or not, DSL on the phone line often keeps this type of system from working correctly.

I do this for a living, and I can't make the telephone interface designed for my Networks system work on my home phones; and I have an actual DSL splitter at the head of my phone line. By the same token, I've installed systems in other houses with an unfiltered DSL line, and the telephone interface worked just fine.

Basically, either you are missing a configuration setting, or your particular telco setup is simply not going to work with this feature. This system was designed before DSL became a common feature on american telephone lines.

This is a very basic system, there really aren't that many options for this feature.

I was pluging an RJ11 cord into the RJ!! jack. That jack is for an attached handset only the panel cannot pick up using this jack. so i stripped one end of the cord and attached the green wire (tip) to lug #2 and the red wire (ring) to lug #3 and voila it now works perfectly. RTFM. Thank you all for trying to help me.
