Hi, I am re-doing the kitchen lighting with track lighting. I would like to know the distance from the wall to install the fixture over the sink area. I have a window over the sink.
Thanks in advance.

Lighting over the sink should be pretty much vertically centered over the sink.
Remember that track lights in a kitchen will soon be covered in cooking grease and require constant cleanings.
They also draw attention to the ceiling instead of beautiful cabinets.

I would not use track over the sink. You will have to point them strieght down.. it will look ugly.
If you move them back and point at an angle you will make a shadow on the work surface when you want to use the light most.
