I'm in Calif. and have poured a 4" thick concrete patio which I will finish with brick pavers. Just recently, I decided that I want to have a nat. gas fire pit in the center. I must now run gas line b/t the cured concrete and new pavers. (I cannot run the line through the dirt underneath the concrete) So, I am running 1/2" iron pipe gas line above, and will notch the bottoms of the pavers. Now, I know that I need a plastic sleeve or PVC pipe to provide a barrier b/t the concrete, bricks and pipe. Does anyone know how I might do this w/o buying say 1 1/2" PVC or other conduit and trying to fit it and glue it around a 90 degree bend and straight sections of iron pipe? I need some kind of flexible tubing allowed by code that must be caulked at both ends to keep moisture out. Thanks

Get out the concrete saw. You need to run the gas line 18" deep, BELOW the slab you just poured.

Before you start on this go down and check the codes on gas lines where you live. that would be the best bet.

After determining the local requirements, Lefty has the right idea.

If you cannot core a hole and get access to drive a sleeve, a saw is the best bet.

Do it right, since you will always be fighting with the surface.
