i have an evaporative aircon i bought second hand and i have to get a new dropper to mount it to the roof.
how is the dropper mounted to the roof? it sits between the joists, or what ever they are called, i know that but how far down does the dropper need to come? does it beed to sit on the roof beams for support or do you just bolt it to the room joists or what ever they are called that form the A shape in the roof?

Not sure what size swamp cooler you have. You could build a plywood box 3/4 P/T just 4 sides and cut that A in it to fit the roof ridge there.If it blows down cut out the roof for what you need and use metal straps to tie the box down to the roof. Inside the box. Seal where it sets on the roof with roof cement or flash it to the shingles.
