when we installed the toilet it was fine.
then a few weeks later, all of a sudden it started to not fill as full as it use to in the bowl. there is only like 2-3 inchs of water

now this kinda happened around the same time we hooked up the sinks, but i dont see how that could be related.

this is one of these new toilets, the inside of the tank looks pretty different then what ive ever seen (no black floaty ball)

any idea how to fix this?

What type float does it use? Is it an inverted cup on the left side? It may be possible, since you did work on other fixtures that you stirred up some calcified stuff that has the float valve stopped up. With the water turned off under the toilet, remove the cap by prying up gently on it. Turn the cup arm about 1/8th turn counterclockwise. It will release and you can see under it. Take a regular cup, invert it over the opening, slightly turn on the water to purge the line out. Replace the top of the valve and see if the water begins to flow again.
BTW, off subject, but how did the fireplace turn out?

Id guess you have got dirt from working on the water lines in that small line that goes over to the stand pipe. This is what fills the stool.

the floater is on a straight 'stick' to the left.

now this is gonna sound extremly stupid but i dont know how toilets work really.

in the middle there is a tube with the water line (which the water actually goes all the way over the line to the top of the tube)

the line that fills the tank has a little clip on it, but it wasnt cliped on anything, its just dangling. is that supose to go in the tube or clip on the outside?

the water lines were very dirty. actually when we first tested the new faucets we were horified because the water presure was so low. we though we had screwed something up. but after uncloging the tap screen it was fine.

fireplace is still at a stand still, we havent found the posts yet but arent activly looking for some. there is just soooooo much to do. finish shower, install shower faucets, grout shower, do some drywall in there, install our kitchen fan and vent in the attic (this one is gonna be tons of fun!!!) finish trim, finish paint, oh i could go on alllll night.

Oops, misread. I was thinking tank, and it was bowl. Check out the little tube as Ed says.
