Try to describe the surges in more detail, and we will try to help you figure out what is happening.

I will be on the computer or watching tv and the lights will flicker in my house . I have several lamps and all of them flicker for a couple of secs . It seems to happen at least once a month. I thought that is was something with the power company, due to the very hot weather but, we have had a cool down in Oklahoma and its just seems strange.. maybe I have a bad wire somewhere? my house is old 1955 but the service panel and breaker switches have been updated.. jill

It never hurts to call the power co. It's free. If you have a new service, perhaps the connections need some attention.
Start there and post back.
