Can track lighting be installed on "beams"? I would like to install track lighting in my basement... thought of can lighting but kind of expensive for my budget. I have live wires from an old flourescent light that is capped off at this time. The ceiling is exposed and I am looking to sheetrock in the next couple of weeks. Can I install the track lighting onto the "beams" that will be left exposed after the sheetrock is installed?

Yes. The only consideration I can think of is how to get the power feed to the track starter.
If the beam can be angle drilled to allow the feed to exit somewhere above the ceiling, would be one suggestion but without a picture, I am only guessing as to what the build will actually be.
