My original hardwired system (Garrison LK-1006 - 6 zones) has finally taken all the thunderstorm hits it can take. This unit has served well for about 10 years and I would like some advice as to what hardwired system would best replace it. I do not need a lot of bells and whistles, I want a simple, easy homeowner maintained system..
Any suggestions???

Take a look at Ademco's 15p I am not a particular to any web site but here is one..

They also have one called Ademco 4110XM It is about a basic as you can get... but for a couple extra $$ I feel the 15p is a better buy. But look around feel free to ask many questions..

If you're willing to shell a lil cash, I would go with a Safewatch 3000. Those are pretty much the standard we're installing these days. Anything by Ademco is pretty reliable and getting parts is no chore either, but for pure universal simplicity alone, I say get a 3k. Plus if you hardwire ever takes a dive and you can't run new wire for whatever reason, the 3k wireless is essentially plug and play on the receiver, and super easy contact programming.
Good luck mate.

The Safewatch 3000 is the ADT modified version of the Honeywell/Ademco Vista 20p. The Vista 15p is a 20p with fewer hardwired zone inputs and a couple of features disabled (they even use the same user and installation manuals)
If you are going to go that route, go with the 20p. You may be able to split your existing zones up more effectively with the extra two zone inputs, or you will have room for future expansion.
