We are building a house (3600 sqm) and we've got 2 quotes for heat pumps. One is for a York Affinity Serie (3.5 Tons) and the other one for Lennox XP15. Any advice on which one is better?

Get 3 bid on the job for sure. New home how long will you stay in it??? 10 years or more go for the good stuff then. Did they both run a heat loss and AC load on the home?? You dont say where you are . 3600 sq ft and 3.5 ton seem light??? you also said heat pumps????
Id go for the lennox for sure here. You do want a high SEER on the AC cause that also kicks up The HSPF of the unit. most of the units we put in have a seer of 15.10 and a HSPF of 8.05 for heat.

I agree with Ed.
3.5 ton system for 3600 sq ft will not get the job done unless you plan on zoning controls for 2 separate zones.
I also agree with Lennox but have to admit Trane heat pumps are superior and Carrier HP Infinity models have the best and most sophisticated system controls on the market.
