My deck is finally complete and just awaiting final inspection. Thanks to everyone for their help in answering my questions.

Very Nice! Some of my favorite design features there - the double beam set in notches, moderate cantilever - I like it. I'm sure Webster city hall will too.
(Webster - Wash U - sounds like a STL kid to me - maybe I should ask what high school you went to...)

Normandy, but have since moved South (Oakville). Together with a couple of my friends who live in Webster, I used to build decks and other things, as a weekend side-job. We remodeled one of their houses - new windows, siding, insulation, roof, soffit, fascia, gutters/downspouts, wiring, converted to forced air heat/cooling, 2-story addition with basement, detached garage, deck, remodeled kitchen and baths. We got to know the city hall pretty well.
