I'm having a problem with my Delta Signature Kitchen Pull-Out Faucet (Model 470). It is a single handle faucet, probably 1998 vintage.

For the last week or so, the pressure coming out of this faucet has been reduced (both in stream and sprayer settings) and when I turn off the faucet water continues to flow for a second or two. It isn't leaking.

Prior to last week, pressure was good out of this faucet and flow would stop immediately when I turn off the faucet. The rest of the house water pressure seems fine.

Any ideas what might cause this recent change in faucet behavior?

Yep. Take off the strainer and clean it out. You may have some calcified particles causing it to have a reduced flow. And since the same amout of pressure is still being pushed against the stopped up strainer, it may take a few seconds for it to equalize.

Thanks. That took care of it. nm
