I have a chrome Delta bath faucet. It has a slow drip so I'd like to replace the rubber seats and springs. The faucet (looks like a model 502) has a chrome hemispherical cap with a knurled bottom I need to unscrew to gain access to the seats. After 16 years the cap is really stuck. Are there any tricks to getting the cap unstuck? Liquid Wrench applied somewhere? PB Blaster? A particular curse word?

After you remove the handle, you will need the Delta spanner wrench to remove the spanner nut on top of the dome. Once you remove it, then use one of those strap wrenches to remove the dome. They will provide enough torque without doing damage. With the dome off, you will then remove the ball, making note of the postion of the slot, and then you can replace the washers and springs. I find it really handy to use a pair of curved hemostats to do this, as you can retain control of them better, especially if you have fat fingers like me. Post back if we can be of further help.
