Hi All,
I've noticed that besides the "regular" electric baseboard heaters, some companies carry more expensive "hydronic" ones (using a fluid to transfer heat). Is there any advantage to either type?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

The "hydronic" electric baseboards run at a lower temperature which can translate into a safer unit, less likely to start a fire if something falls against it.
Of course the advantage of the non-hydronic is that it is cheaper. It will also heat up a bit faster.

Another consideration is if you ever want to turn off the heat completely (3-season room, seasonal cabin, you're a snow-bird etc.) and you have the possibility of freezing temps. Some versions might be able to handle freezing temps. You'd have to check.

good thinking. This is for the basement, though, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I searched around a lot on the internet but couldn't find any concrete answers on this topic. I'd think that the manufacturers would have information but they don't.
Thanks all for your comments!
