Hello...anybody here? this forum looks empty? Realized why this forum looked empty none of the posts were showing but I have it set right now
I have a butcher block country wood kitchen table and windsor type rounded back chairs.....legs and such are in white. I'm thinking of cleaning them and repainting them a country red....wondering the best way to do this.....spray or??

I would venture that spraying would give you the best results. If are not going to strip them, clean them well with spic n span to remove all the grease, grit, and grim. Sand the surface lightly with some 150 grit paper or green scotchbrite pad to facilitate bonding, prime with a good primer, then paint with the gloss or sem-gloss of your choosing.

Scuff sand 180 g
Solvent-based primer
Light sand 180/220 g
Two coats quality enamel of your choice (light 220 after the first coat)

Spraying may give you a less brush marks, but a brush will (generally) be easier for a DIYer with no spraying experience

Personally I like a few brush marks on Country or Rustic furniture
