My cook top with electronic ignition continues to click but only when the burner is turned low. On high, its OK. Any ideas?

Hello stevengould46. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic.

Try cleaning that sparker or sparker's at the burner head(s). May resolve the problem. Why? Because it is the heat from the flames which creates electrical resistance in the sparker's electrode. Which in turn turns off the sparking module.

Not enough heat at the sparker allows it to continue to spark. If cleaning sparker does not work, check the flame holes or slots of that burner head. Flames may not be reaching that sparker because of a restriction in the burner port.

Do not enlarge the slot or hole. Just clean it out using a needle pin or similar device. Enlarging the slot or hole will create a flame much too large distorting the heating characteristics, etc.

If all else fails, the sparker will need to be replaced. IMO, not worth the time nor expense for one sparker. Might wait until another repair is needed and then replace that one sparker.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be also. They will need the make, model an serial numbers. Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
