We need a new gas dryer, super capacity. Our Kenmore has gone out for the last time. I'm tired of having the repairman out. I don't need anything fancy, just big and dependable. Any suggestions.

Consumer Reports says GE, Maytag, Kenmore (Sears), and Whirlpool make for 80% of dryer sales. They recommend a dryer with a moisture sensor that recognizes when laundry is dry because this is more energy efficient than the traditional thermostat and prevents overdrying of clothes. Studies indicated that all dryers tend to dry clothes well. Larger capacity dryers tend to cost a little more.

Hello Ellen48 and Welcome into my Gas Appliances topic.
Difficult question to answer since appliance selection is just like any other product or service purchase. Boils down to personal choices and preferences, etc.
Within almost every price range there are several choices. Many options and selections between brands and models, etc. Within each of these groups, each manufacturer offers features, quality, warranty and service claims they determine will best sell their products.
Regardless of your personal choice, each product has to be selected by your individual selection process, needs and within your price range.
In my personal option, there isn't any one product brand better than the other. They all perform equally as well. All require parts and service sometime during the products life expectancy. Select the one that best suites your needs and price range, install it, and maintain it well.
Always consider the warranties and future service needs for any major appliances your considering to purchase. Price isn't always the best guide for long term appliance investments.
Of the brands mentioned above, there are several additional brands all made by the same manufacturers. Read the sticky note. Brands all vary regionally based upon there popularity.
DRYER SERVICE TIP:
It's always advisable to clean the entire exhaust venting system every 2 years. Or during any dryer maintenance, replacement and or repairs.
