I purchased the subject sander in 1995 and it stopped abruptly as if I turned the power off. I installed a new switch and that didn't help. I checked the power and it does go through the switch. The timing belt looks fine. The manual doesn't help on going any further. What's next? Also, do you know of any sites devoted to Craftsman tool repair?Thank you.

The only owner repair possible would be to check the brushes.
Sometimes they get caked with dirt and cannot pass current to the commutator.

If they are ok then you could have burnt out windings which may not be worth repairing.
