I just bought a new home this year the house was built in 92 I just noticed that one of my storm windows has moisture in it. I think the seal is broken? Is this an easy fix, about how much would it cost or is this something I can do with out hiring a contractor. Could this be covered under a warranty?
Please help!

Cost of window replacement will vary depending on cost of window. Replacement windows vary from inexpensive to very expensive, depending on quality and features, such as UVB rating, insulation, etc. Windows with better warranties will also cost more. Cost of labor will vary among installers and also depend upon difficulty of removal of old window and installation of new. Once seals on dual pane windows deteriorates, it is time for replacement. Windows installed in 1992 would likely not be covered by warranty. Whether or not you can DIY will depend on how handy you are and the difficulty of the replacement.

If you are referring to replacing an insulating glass unit (IGU) that has moisture between the panes, it is probably not a DIY project. If you can remove the sash, you can probably take it to a glass shop and have it replaced, which would be cheaper than having them come out to measure the IGU, and then come out again later to replace the glass.

IGU's that are over 10 years old are often not covered by any type of warranty. A few may have 20 yr warranties, some are prorated after 10. What brand of window is it?
