Looking for some advice. I installed a Mitsubishi Mr Slim split unit this weekend, the 12,000 btu model. All went well and I am done and was going to wait to have an A/C tech come and do the start up later in the week.
My neighbor says that the unit comes pre-charged with with r410 (the manual confirms this for up to a 35 foot line set) and that all I need to do is open the valve and start it up.
What are the risks here? I have a little under 40 feet of line set.
thanks!

Scott,
If the lines are connected they will need to be leak tested and evacuated.
If you release the refrigerant without having a vacuum pulled on the lines the air and moisture that they contain will kill your system in no time.

Thanks Greg,
I'll wait then and have a tech come out this week.
