Is it okay to not have a closet bend and use some other couplings? Still vented up through the wall behind the toilet in a 2" vent.
Here's my proposed set up: http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/249/toiletdrainum4.jpg
I am trying to save every inch of drop as I have a long (16') run to connect with the existing branch that involves having to go just under one HVAC duct and then just over a second, leaving a narrow window (but possible if I play every 1/4" right).
In an earlier setup, doing the closet bend+low heel vent+sweep el seemed to eat up more vertical space than this would (if permissible).

Using fittings with couplings causes the waste to form clogs. TP and other waste will hang up on the joints and cause you continual problems. If local code permits, you may be able to use the "sweep" you had pictured. It is actually a combination wye and 1/8th bend fitting. Only difference is the change is not radical. Good luck.

Thanks a lot. I'll need the luck. But it seems like there are some good options.
Thanks again.
