I have a Sears Craftsman lawn mower 12 HP
I busted the steering gear and replaced it,but the steering is still sloppy.
Is there something that I should check to tighten up this problem?

Most likely the shaft support is worn out. Pull up your mower on www3.sears.com and look at the steering components. Get the shaft support and the bushing near the sector gear. Should be around $10 for the pair.
