Toilets, Sinks, Showers, Tubs and Disposals - need new kitchen sink

I have a damaged kitchen sink and started looking for a new one. the only problem is the size. my current sink is 675mm by 470mm. it fits into a kitchen bay window going round the sink.

are the sizes above pretty standard, i.e should i be able to get a sink pretty easily????

if not, does any1 have any suggestions???

Most kitchen sinks conform to a standard size, except for the dinky ones and the corner ones. Your best bet is to measure the one you have and take those measurements with you to the store while you are shopping for a new one. What kind of damage occurred to your sink?

675 millimeters = 26.5748031 inches and 470 millimeters = 18.503937 inches. This is a non-standard and non-stock sink size. Several manufacturers offer different size sinks that can be special ordered. You may end up with one that is slightly larger and with adjustment of cut-out in countertop may allow you to use a replacement. You will need to call on a kitchen dealer with access to manufacturer's catalogs from which a sink can be ordered. For instance, Elkay manufacturers a double bowl sink 29" x 18".

Now that you have the Metric conversion to inches, you may want to consider a sink wider than 18" since the old sink is 18-1/'2" wide. A 1/2" is quite a gap to fill. You just need to find a model that is slightly larger in both directions and recut the hole. You can always cut larger but not smaller. Good luck with your project.

but there is no way i can have a bigger sink. it is in a bay window and the width of the bay window is the width of the sink. i'll have to do some shopping around
