I need to be able to open a screen door, light weight, more than the 90 degrees, more or less, that I find in the closers that I have examined. 15 to 30 degrees would be acceptable.

Does someone make a closer that would permit this, or is there a simple way to modify a standard closer to permit this?

Thank you.

You can move the bracket on the door inward toward the hinge side of the door, but 100 degrees or so is all you will be able to get, since the piston rod will hit the door with more angle than that. You will have to make this adjustment with consideration to complete closing of the door, also, so be aware of that, too.

you could also use a shorter jamb bracket and mounting door bracket closer to hinge like chandler said. it is also a good idea that you use the storm door limiting chain so you dont risk bending rod on closer since with the side opening angle the storm door closer rod might be touching the door.
