Hi
i have been noticing that our toilet makes a squealing noise when it's flushed lately. The sound is coming from our upstairs toilet and sounds like a high pitched squeal that runs for a few seconds. This upstairs toilet also makes this noise when we flush the downstairs toilet. In the middle of the night it'll go off periodically as well. We live in a townhouse. Is there a simple soultion for this problem? The toilet is probaby as old as this place - built in the late 80's.

Replace the fill valve with a Fluidmaster 400A fill valve. About $6 at Home Centers. Comes with really easy to follow instructions. Good luck.
