Have a corner shower stall which has a stone base and synthetic marble walls. I have had to constantly re-caulk the seams between the walls and base and in the corner where the two walls come together. The last time I cleaned all the old caulk off the walls and base and used a 100 % silicone caulk. This shower has not been used for the last six months. Six months later the caulk along the base and most of the vertical run between the wall sections has held up and looks new. At the bottom of the wall sections, at the base line, and for about two inches up the wall, the caulk is pulling away and looks like it has been in use for many months. I want to use this shower again, but can't if it is going to leak on me. Any magic formulas out there for a guaranteed long-term seal? Thanks.

It sounds like there is movement of the walls that is causing the cracks. Try using 100% silicone (I prefer GE Silicone 2) after removing and thoughly cleaning the surfaces to be caulked. Then put as much weight as you can (and still be able to work) in the base and caulk. This will give the base and walls more "stretch" when cured. Let the caulk cure fully before removing the weight. Good luck.
