I just put all new Fluidmaster parts in a toilet tank.Occasionally after flushing, the valve will stop abruptly.I called Fluidmaster and they had me rub oil on the gasket in the top of the valve. It did not help.I called back and they said they would send out a new one,but I might have to go back to the old ball float type valve.I went and bought another Fluidmaster and it does the same thing. Can anyone tell me why?I've used the valves before and always thought they were the best.

While you had the top off, did you happen to clear it of debris. Changing anything in the supply system can knock loose calcium, etc. and will clog the valve. With the top off, place a cup over the top of the valve and turn on the water a small amount until it flushes the line. Maybe combined with your lubricating the washer, it will work more smoothly.
