Hi there,

I have a townhouse (rowhouse) that burst a pipe in the main bathroom under the previous owner's rule. I am not sure what was in the bathroom before but now there is an ABS tub and 5 panel shower surround. It would appear that the surround is inset when compared to the sheetrock above the surround (about 1 1/2') up to the ceiling as you can plainly see the lip of the 1/2" sheetrock, about 1/4" or more in places.

Is this normal? I have looked on the net for installation guides for similar panels and none of them say to cut the sheetrock away and attach directly to studs. I am scared that this is what has happened. The surround is now starting to buldge in places and I would like to do something with it but am on a really tight budget.

Any ideas?
