I have a 2000 model Murray 42" 14.5 HP mower, model # 425003X8A. The drive belt broke today for the first time. I can barely see where it goes. Can someone tell me the replacement proceedure? I don't want to disassemble more than I have to just to replace the belt. What parts have to be removed for access?

Without actually looking up your mower, I believe the steering column has to come up to get the belt on, but I don't think anything else has to come off. You can remove the 2 bolts holding the steering column bushing in place at the bottom of the shaft, and pull it up far enough to get it out of the middle of the belt.
