Hi,
I have 2 boys (11 & 9) & they share a room. I'm looking for ideas to redo their room. Both are interested in video games & computers. I would like to do something that is cool & will last through the teenage years. They both like bold colors (red & blue) & the carpet in their room is blue. I really don't know what is popular with teens these days.:wall: Any ideas would be appreciated.

hi & welcome to the forums!

i find that there is so much going on in kids' rooms, with toys & desks & wall decor & just all that STUFF, that walls & bedding can & need to be kept simple. and since they're getting older, they're probably over all the licensed character stuff anyway. i would start with bedding & then pick a color from that for the walls. maybe simple color-blocked quilts like these ( http://www4.jcpenney.com/jcp/ProductsHOM.aspx?DeptID=25436&CatID=37056&CatTyp=LFS&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=0ec43d4&ProdSeq=15&Cat=quilts&Dep=Bed+%26+Bath&PCat=Sweet+Dreams+Bedding+Sale&PCatID=37055&RefPage=ProductList&Sale=&ProdCount=25&RecPtr=&ShowMenu=&TTYP=&ShopBy=0&RefPageName=CategoryAll.aspx&RefCatID=37055&RefDeptID=25436&Page=99&CmCatId=HomePage|37055|37056). then for a little interest on the walls, you could add a chair rail (stained or painted to go with existing woodwork) and maybe do navy or dark red on bottom & keep the top a light neutral.

What happened to your post Annette? :( It goes all the way to the right? Sorry...off topic!

Another thing you can do is ask your kids if you haven't already. Sometimes they have great ideas with things that are popular that we wouldn't even think of!... being they're "kids". :)

more info: now this whole thread is to the right? Is it just me?

Also, make sure you keep it simple in a sense b/c kids/teens tend to change their minds a lot. So make sure any of the stuff you decide to do isn't permanent or way too expense (if that's your choice)or if it's something you can live with for a long time, that would be fine too.

My son is about your boys age and 1 thing he wanted and liked the idea of was to paint on one side of a wall a hawaiian theme with palm trees, water and the sand and sky basically...I could live with that. I just haven't gotten around to painting it yet. Ha ha.... Maybe you weren't asking for specifically painting or anything but just something I personally am going to do.
