I have an 8 year old Kenmore Dishwasher Model 363.14455692.
When I turned it on tonight it just hummed. Low quiet hum. I turned the knob a bit but it didn't start it's normal drain cycle. I turned it a bit further and it DID begin to fill the bottom with water but did nothing else...except that real quiet hum. (I think I stopped it from filling so I don't know if it would have stopped before overflowing or not)? I continued to turn it slowly the full 360 but it did nothing! I reset all the push buttons and tried again...say result...low hum! I have the OM & IPL and am pretty handy but I have never fixed a dishwasher...until now! Please point me in the right direction to fix the thing. I can do without a lot of things...my dishwasher isn't one of them! Thanks in advance for everyone's help, Ron

Sounds like the motor.. you can remove the lower cover and see if motor is turning... check the sump inside for a bind otherwise motor bad...

You can try turning the motor by hand with the power off at the motors cooling fins. Sometimes thats enough to free them up & get it running again. Take the bottom kick plate off the front to get at motor. Dave
