Hi All,
Got a JVC set that has suddenly started having problems with closed captions on the higer channels, say about 20 and above. The captioning works fine on the lower channels. I am thinking the TV just needs a slight tweak in the tuning which is of course automatic. Does the set have some kind of small adjustment screw or some such that may need a touch of an adjustment? The signal comes in via cable and another TV on the same cable displays captions fine on all channnels. The JVC is about 8 years old.

Thanks Much

I requested help on a problem with my 27 JVC tv and have not gotten a response. Further research hasen't solved my problem but perhaps can benefit your problem... to reach the service menu on some JVC tv's you can set the clock 3:21AM start the clock as normal but press the "mute" button while the "THANK YOU" is flashing then quickly press menu up or down button. us up/down to select; left/right to adjust. Settings are saved upon exit. OR: hold display and video status on remote simultaneously will bring up a service menu. A word of caution was offered: without a service manual it is hard to navigate. Please be advised that changes you make may worsen the condition and make it harder or impossible to read the service menu if not done correctly. Good Luck.
