My grandson has this TV which he uses to play video games.
The remote stopped working. We checked batteries and this didn't solve the problem.
Thinking it was the remote we purchased a universal remote
and this didn't help. The universal worked on other tv's in the house.
I have limited experience with TV repair and could repair internal
problem if I knew the possible cause.
Has anyone had a similar problem or any suggestions on what to look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Is the TV a combo VCR? If so, check to make sure you select the TV button on the remote to control the tv functions - this may already be obvious to you but some people just don't get it. Do this with the original remote. Usually the remote has a small black area that lights up - this area is what transmits the signal to the TV. It needs to be cleaned because little finger prints and dirt can block the signal. Check the TV for the area that it receives the signal. Some TVs have a circular shaped area - if this gets covered with a sticker or dirt the TV will not get it's signal from the remote. Often times kids will put a sticker over this because it looks like a scary eye. On newer TVs I think the eye is very small. Let me know what happens. The Ladyfixer
