This may be a really stupid question, but I'm in the design phase of a basement finishing project, and am wondering:
Is there a current standard being used as far as the size of doors installed for bedrooms and bathrooms (I'm not really referring to code, but more of a trend)? If so, what is it?

It really falls to personal preference. When I built my parent's house mom insisted on having 36" doors from the living room to their bedroom and bathroom. Why?? Her response was as we get older, we may need access via wheelchair. She was right.
However, IMO, 36 is a little wide, as a 32 will do just fine. You may want to consider the pocket door option in the bathroom, also, just to save wall space.

Hi, Most doors for bathrooms are 24" and 30" for a bedroom. The rooms being in a basement would eleminate consideration for wheel chair accessabilty.

Some of our rental units have 34" doors, which is not a standard size. We didn't know about this until we had to replace one. The explanation we got was it allowed for a wheelchair without having the huge swing of a 3'0" (36 inch door). I can't see much reason why you'd need to use anything other than a 2'8" (32 inch door).
