My 1920s built framed home has a stone foundation and water has started seeping into the front portion of my basement. The affected area is under my framed front porch which has about 3 feet of clearance. During heavy rains there is enough seepage to soak the carpet. It seems like the water seeps from above the grade beside, and at the corner of the house, under the porch then inside the house. The grade under the porch is low so I know that needs to be resolved. But, what can I do to seal or waterproof the foundation?

These are some options I've come up with. Other/better suggestions would be appreciated!

1) Pack a load of dirt under the porch and slope it away from the foundation so the water can drain off?

2) Concrete the affected area(s) of the foundation again sloping away from the house?

3) Dig a trench from corner to corner (approx 25ft) and apply a sealant or some form of water/moisture barrier to the stone?

4) Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
Joseph
