I have a concrete slab and I was starting to lay laminate flooring in my front entry when I noticed a "hump" that is not allowing the flooring to lay flat. What is the best way to fix this? Evening out by using leveling mud wouldn't work because of the lay out of the entry. Is cutting out a section partially through the slab and then leveling the surface to eliminate the "hump" the way to go?

I appreciate any and all help and I want to thanks ahead of time in case I don't later.

To level out a hump in a small area, I would rent a roto-hammer at a local rental facility. Get a bush hammer head for it. (This looks like one of those meat-tenderizing mallets). You can bush hammer down the hump in a relatively short time. Have the rental guys show you how to use it. Bush hammering will create considerable dust, so be prepared for that. Protect the surroundings from dust, and wear a mask and goggles! Good luck.
