Have a side by side Kitchen Aid refridgerator/freezer. Model # KSRS25QAWH10. Its 12 yrs old and still running like a top. Recently the refrigerator side door handle has loosend to the point that I can see the screws at the lower part of the handle when pulling the door open. I'm assuming the inner door will have to be removed to access the handle screws to tighten them. I would appreciate any insight into how the inner door is removed and any words of caution on doing this myself.

thanks

Are you sure they can't be tightned from the outside? Make sure there is not some ornamental sleeve over the door handle that don't slip or pop off to expose the screws.

If you DON'T have such a (hopefull) design, and you DO have to gain access...I feel sorry for you, and I wouldn't ever buy (knowingly) some kind of unit like this. I would scream bloody murder to the manufacturer. I know from taking out liners and gaskets from standard fridges, that there are a gazillion screws hiding under the gasket around all 4 sides, and it takes much effort to assemble everything back right so that the gasket is sandwiched in just right.

DaVeyBoy, thanks for the tip. I took a good look at the handle tonite and figured out that the whole handle from the top to the bottom of the door had a pressed on metal cover. Took the end caps off and slowly worked it out of the channels. Access to the screw heads just like you mentioned. All is well now. Not exactly sure how I came across this site earlier today, but glad I did. I'll definitely bookmark it, and hopefully I can help someone out in return.
