Some white paint came off the tub (inside dryer), someone put a rag in there with something that ate the paint away. And I had not even used it yet so it also developed rust. I want to sand it and paint over it. What paint can I use? I have a GE regular run of the mill gas dryer.

You would need to use heat resistant primer and paint.
