i painted kitchen cabinets a few months ago & they are slightly tacky. I want to find out if a polyeurathane or a glaze would harden over this?

Welcome to the forums

I assume you used a latex paint, what brand? What type of prep did you do?

Polyurathane will dry harder but generally it isn't something I would recomend over paint. Oil base poly dries the harder than latex poly but can change the color of the paint - this is especially true with light colors - gives them an amber cast.

I haven't used any glazes so I'll leave that for someone else to answer.

yes the paint is latex (dark Brown) miro glide by frazee. the cabinets were washed, steel wooled, primed, sanded & painted. the paint color turned out milk chocolate color & i was really hoping for semi sweet chocolate color. my thoughts are... if i use a black or dark brown poly or glaze it will harden over the tacky & darken to my liking?

Poly should harden over the latex paint but I would recomend using an oil base enamel [of the right color] instead.

I second the enamel
The labor is the same as poly
So just go with the better coating
