It's an electric washing machine, about 10 years old, model #FWX233NBS3...During the wash cycle, it sometimes makes a grinding, "ratcheting" sound..which isn't too bad...But, during the spin cycles, it is so loud, everytime, that you cannot carry on a normal coversation in the same room...It is a "whirring", or "humming" sound, that I know cannot be good...
I've been told it may be the motor bearings going bad...And that they are not too big a chore to take on myself...I've done some appliance repair myself before, and am on a budget...Cannot afford a repairman at this time...But I know this will only get worse if I don't look into it as soon as possible...
Is this an issue I may be able to correct myself?...What are YOUR opinions on what may be happening to cause all the noise?...Other than the noise, the machine always works just fine..(so far)...I'm the original owner..
Any comments, suggestions eagerly awaited and greatly appreciated...

Remove 2 screws at bottom of front panel... listen for the noise and pinpoint location

Hi, bambiblaster, thanks for the reply...
After a little research (and my wife reminding me that we occasionally have a little rusty-colored "puddle" under the washer, that I forgot to post earlier), it sounds to me as if the tub seal failed, and got the "tub bearings"(???) wet, and that's causing the noise...No?
Thanks for all replies,
Matt
