Hi,

I have a 4 year, 1 month old Sears/Kenmore fridge, freezer on top, fridge on bottom. Icemaker was connected. Been fine for a while. Have noticed that water will leak out my fridge door from where its collected at the bottom of the fridge (under my veggie drawers). Figured out that when the icemaker has the arm moved up so ice isn't made, it doesn't do this. In addition, noticed that ice will freeze in the ice bin at the back only.

I have figured that it has to be the hose that puts water to the icemaker that is the problem, but don't understand where I go from here to troubleshoot or whether there is more there than meets the eye. Do I need to pull the fridge out to look for the line being messed up or what? What does the line look like?

Thanks!

Vic

It sounds to me like your saying you think the problem of excessive water under the crispers is coming from the ice maker over flowing. If that is the case (which would be pretty unusual for water in the ice bins to make it down under the crispers) the problem probably won't be in the supply hose coming through the back wall of the freezer. Could be, but that hose usually doesn't give much problem.
You said ice only freezes in the back of the ice bucket. It sounds to me like you have more of a problem than the ice maker leaking. Does everything else seem to be cooling and freezing ok? Do you have a thermometer in either compartment? The water line on the back supplying water is probably 1/4" copper or plastic but probably the water line itself is not causing the problem you've described. If you pull out the unit you will notice a plastic water line going from the bottom of the unit to a small white plastic piece at the top usually connected by a small clamp. Look to see if there are signs of water leaking around the hose and connection. Post back if you can't figure things out.
