I have a brand new high-end KitchenAid side-by-side. When I close the freezer door, it makes a whistling sound. I assume that the freezer is creating a vacuum to help with the seal, etc.
The first week, the whistling seemed to be pretty short and somewhat quiet. Over the last 3 weeks, the whistle has gotten longer and louder.
We called a repairman, he called KitchenAid, and they said it was normal. I have never heard a freezer whistle before, and I am afraid there is a bad seal somewhere that will get worse over time, and fail the day after the fridge goes out of warranty. :-)
Any ideas?
